Official Statement from Michael Harris the Libertarian Candidate for Battle River–Crowfoot on the longest ballot committee:

With over 50 names now officially on the ballot and more likely to come, voters are facing the longest ballot in Canadian history. But let’s call it what it is: a coordinated mockery of the democratic process, designed to flood the ballot and drown out real debate.

This flood of joke candidates doesn’t just waste voters time. It actively hurts serious independent and third-party candidates who are working hard to give this riding real alternatives to the status quo.

Let’s be clear: this is ballot manipulation, a deliberate effort to bury candidates who’ve knocked on doors, spoken with people on the ground, and who've actually built grassroots campaigns.

If those behind this stunt were truly serious about electoral reform or challenging the political establishment, they’d put their energy behind one principled candidate and run a serious campaign. Spamming the ballot doesn’t build a movement it weakens the credibility of everyone trying to create real change.

I didn’t enter this race to be a protest. I entered to give Albertans a principled voice on issues like ending equalization, fighting for Alberta, and finally ending Ottawa’s grip on our economy.

While some are playing games, I’m here to fight for the towns that Ottawa forgot, places like Acme, Carbon, Linden, and Drumheller, where infrastructure is crumbling, promises are broken, and locals are left behind.

If you're tired of being ignored by politicians who only show up during election season, don’t let this circus distract you.
